Martin Parr continues to be one of my favorite photographers. Ever. He recently'ish did an editorial fashion shoot for Stiletto using a cosmetic surgery as an unusual location for luxury product placements. Which I think is a pretty clever idea, considering the ongoing aquisition for beauty through surgery and lavish material goods remains highly commonplace, and still completely vulnerable to criticism. It also seems a constant theme that he is always documenting the "ostentatously" wealthy population of the world, whether it be at coveted derby type outings or showy millionare get togethers in Moscow. Wherever the locations, his color photos never fail to stretch my curiousity. Although it seems more recently he's been doing a lot of magazine editorial type projects, his formidable career has spanned decades. Regardless, all his photos remain consistent to his vividly quirky and humorously offsetting perspective.
